Focus on Reform: Public Health Provisions

This session examined key provisions related to community health, clinical and community preventive services, and workplace wellness. Speakers reviewed and commented upon the Prevention and Public Health Fund; Community Transformation Grants; the National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council; the National Prevention and Health Promotion Strategy; and nutrition labeling of menu items at chain restaurants, among other provisions. The panel discussed expectations for how these provisions will support modernization of the U.S. public health system and improve the public's health, as well as considerations for successful implementation.
