Pamela Larson, MPH, is director for consumer health for kp.org, the official Kaiser Permanente website. In this role, Ms. Larson provides strategic direction for information related to health and wellness, disease management, and interactive tools including Kaiser Permanente’s Personal Health Record. She works with a team of clinical leaders who ensure that all health content and features are evidence-based, in alignment with Kaiser Permanente's clinical guidelines, and inspire trust in the Kaiser Permanente website as an accurate and reliable source of health information, consumer engagement, and behavior change.
Ms. Larson’s 30 years of strategic leadership in redesigning delivery systems to improve member health in a large, multi-site health maintenance organization have resulted in the implementation of key programs such as the Healthy Lifestyle Programs on kp.org, Kaiser Permanente’s online behavior change programs; the integration of health content and tools into Kaiser Permanente’s Personal Health Record; PHP Printed Preventative Health Prompt, a state-of-the-art prevention reminder system for Kaiser Permanente members; The Self-Care Program, which provided members with a medical guide -- The Healthwise Handbook -- to empower them to take charge of their health; and Bright Systems, a pediatric care delivery system.
Ms. Larson is a frequent author and presenter, and she has taught a variety of health-related courses. She earned her master’s degree in public health education from San Jose State University, and her bachelor’s of science degree in public health education from the University of California, Berkeley.
