Michael Galang, DO, is the chief information officer at the Catholic Healthcare System (CHS), an integrated delivery network based in Buffalo, New York. He has served in this position since 2008. Previously, he practiced family medicine for 20 years and was one of the early adopters of electronic health records in western New York. He served as medical director for a 25-physician primary care group, medical director for clinical quality of a 120-physician multispecialty group, and chief medical information officer for CHS.
Dr. Galang holds bachelor’s degrees in both biology and drama from the University of California, San Diego; a master’s degree in medical informatics from Northwestern University; a master’s degree in health care management from Harvard University; and a medical degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at the San Jose Medical Center/Stanford University.
