Beverley Johnson is the founding president of the Institute for Patient- and Family-Centered Care, whose mission is to advance the understanding and practice of patient- and family-centered care. In partnership with patients, families, and health care professionals, the institute seeks to integrate these concepts into all aspects of health care. Ms Johnson has 25 years of experience in leading nonprofit organizations. She also has clinical and administrative experience in an academic medical center and has served as a hospital trustee and a trustee for other organizations. She has provided technical assistance and consultation to over 150 hospitals; federal, state, and provincial agencies; and community organizations. Ms. Johnson currently serves as a project director for Rothschild Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation initiatives and as a faculty member for the California Healthcare Foundation’s Team Up for Health. She holds a BS degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina.
